A Late Egg Hunt

We got together with some friends for an after Easter egg hunt. We were a bit late because of my family being out of town the week before Easter and also just kids being sick and all, but we didn't care, at least we got to have our little Easter party and egg hunt. The kids had a great time, and I know mine still had Easter on the brain, so they definitely had no idea our egg hunt was past due. Mine continue to hide their Easter eggs all over the house for at least a month after Easter anyway. We hid eggs outside for the kids to find, then had an Easter themed lunch complete with bunny shaped sandwiches and marshmallows and Easter cupcakes. We were supposed to finish out the party with some pool time, but the weather didn't behave that day, and it ended up being cloudy and windy and way too cool for the pool.

Easter fun with Cousins

While we were back in Arron's hometown for his grandmother's funeral we stayed at his cousin's house. Noah and Anna enjoyed getting to spend so much time with their cousin Emma who is the same age as Noah. Noah has always had a great time playing with Emma, but now that Anna is getting a little older she was enjoying hanging out with Emma too. She followed her around everywhere she went and barely ever let Emma out of her sight. The kids got to do some baking together, they dyed some Easter eggs, they went to see the movie Hop, and of course did lots of running around and playing.

Some friends of the family let several of the out of town relatives in town for Grandmother's funeral stay at their cabin for free. This is the view from the front of the cabin. We went up there one night and just sat out on the front porch with all the family talking while the kids ran around the wide open spaces.

Easter 2011

We were out of town and got back right before Easter so our Easter activities were a little late, and we had to throw our Easter baskets together at the last minute. We pulled it off though so we had a good Easter. I tried my hardest to get some cute pictures of the kids all dressed up, but they were not having it. I got closed eyes, dresses in the air, and just totally not even looking at me, as you can see from some of these pictures. We didn't get our eggs dyed until right before bed time on Easter. The kiddies all had a great time doing it though, and we tried a new egg dyeing kit where you spin the egg around in this little container. They came out looking kind of tie dyed. They all got and ate way too much candy in their baskets and were so fast and sneaky in eating it, so I had to hurry and empty their baskets and hide all the candy from them before they wound up with upset tummies. Grammy gave them an Easter book that told the Easter story so we were able to read that and talk about the real meaning of Easter with the kids too. It was a wonderful Easter.

Grace isn't looking.

Noah's eyes closed.

Closed again.

The best picture I got, but Gracie was trying to get away and did not want Noah holding onto her.

I snapped this one last picture right before they went to change their clothes. Can't believe they were all looking. Notice Gracie has another piece of candy in her hand.
