Friends' Birthdays

In May we had a couple of friends' birthday parties to attend. First was our friend Joshua who turned five and had a fishing themed birthday party. The kids played pin the hook on the fish, colored fish and did dot to dot, and ate a fish shaped cake too. We had a lot of fun at our friend Joshua's party. Then the following week we went to our friend Emily's 5th birthday party. She had a fun pool party in her back yard. The kids had fun splashing in the kiddie pools, playing on the swing set, and in the playhouse too. Then we had some lunch and cupcakes. The kids all had a great time at their friends' parties.

Mothers Day 2011

For Mother's Day this year the girls made cute little candle holders out of baby food jars at one of our play dates. We ended up putting flowers in them and gave them to my mom and grandma like that. They turned out so cute! Arron and the kiddies surprised me with some cute cards, my favorite candy, and a gift certificate to a spa to get anything I choose, massage, facial, or whatever. Something I've never done before. I don't know what to choose, but I'm sure anything I choose will be great and very relaxing. Then that evening we went out to eat at Texas Roadhouse. It was so yummy, and they had someone there going around to the tables raising money for a children's charity making balloon animals for all the kids. Noah got a sword, Anna got a dinosaur, and Gracie got a monkey. They loved their balloon animals. It was a fun night for everyone. After dinner we went to visit Nanny at the nursing home and give her her little gift the kids made. Just wish she could've joined us for dinner though, but we had a nice visit with her afterwards.

A Late Egg Hunt

We got together with some friends for an after Easter egg hunt. We were a bit late because of my family being out of town the week before Easter and also just kids being sick and all, but we didn't care, at least we got to have our little Easter party and egg hunt. The kids had a great time, and I know mine still had Easter on the brain, so they definitely had no idea our egg hunt was past due. Mine continue to hide their Easter eggs all over the house for at least a month after Easter anyway. We hid eggs outside for the kids to find, then had an Easter themed lunch complete with bunny shaped sandwiches and marshmallows and Easter cupcakes. We were supposed to finish out the party with some pool time, but the weather didn't behave that day, and it ended up being cloudy and windy and way too cool for the pool.
