Back to Awana

Around mid September the kids started back at Awana at church. Anna is in her second year of Cubbies and Noah is in his second year of Truth and Training. They were so excited and couldn't wait to go back to Awana. One more year and Gracie gets to join in the fun too.

Gone Fishing

We had been wanting to take the kids fishing sometime. The last time we went was when Anna was a baby. So one day after school we went fishing with our friends at the pond up the road from their house. The kids had so much fun and caught lots of fish. We threw them all back though, so they could be caught again another day. Later Noah asked me why we didn't keep them so we could make fish sticks with them. Silly boy!

Arron's Birthday

For Arron's birthday we went to his favorite restaurant, Carraba's, for dinner. He loves going there, and it is very yummy, and I just so happened to get a coupon in the mail from them recently too, so it worked out perfectly. We had a great dinner then went back home to give him his presents and have some cake. When we got home though Gracie had fallen asleep in the car, and she must've been so tired because she stayed asleep the whole evening and slept straight through the night too. Poor thing, she missed all of Daddy's birthday. She didn't get to help open presents or eat any birthday cake. At least she stayed awake through dinner though, and the rest of us all had a nice evening celebrating Daddy.

Princess for a Day

Below I posted about what Noah got to do for fun on Labor Day. Anna also got to enjoy something special that day too. We took her to Sparkles at Broadway at the Beach, and she got to be a princess for a day. She got to pick out a few accessories she wanted and also a bag to put everything in, and she got her nails done, a little makeup put on, and her hair done. She loved it, and you could tell she felt like a princess. She especially loved her new hair style. She looked so cute too.

Getting her nails painted.

A little eyeshadow.

Getting her hair done.

Almost done.

Now the finishing touch.

She loves her princess hair.

A closer look from the side.

A view from the back.

So happy about her new princess look.

When we got home she had to dress the part and add some of her own accessories.

Boys and their Toys

On Labor Day we decided to be tourists for the day, and we went and walked around Broadway at the Beach. We decided kind of spur of the moment to do something fun for Noah and Anna. I will post about what Anna did in another post. Noah got to go to Ridemakerz and pick out a car to make himself. He found one he liked, then got the necessary accessories and went to work with Daddy putting his car together. It didn't take long, but he loved putting his car together himself, and then getting to try it out and take it for a test drive since it was a remote control car.

Putting the tires on.

Finishing up his car.

His finished car. He loves it.
