The Nutcracker 2012

Anna's dance school decided to perform the Nutcracker this year for Christmas, so she got to be in it.  Her class all got to be baby angels in the performance.  They were the youngest performers so they didn't have a big part in it, but they did so good, and Anna just loved performing up on the stage.

Here is the video.  She is the second little girl to walk on stage at the beginning.

Christmas Parade 2012

After the kids got over a mild case of the flu we were able to venture out over the weekend to the local Christmas parade.  The kids enjoyed waving at all the people on the floats and catching lots of candy and bead necklaces.  We also got to hang out with Grammy, Aunt Sharon, Uncle Bob, and cousin Kayla at the parade.

Christmas Card Pics 2012

I did my usual little at home photo shoot for our Christmas card pics.  I got some really cute ones, and some pretty funny ones too.  They all did a good job this year smiling pretty for me so I could get my pics.

Santa and the elves

Noah as Santa

Anna as one of the elves

Gracie as another elf

The elves, I mean, the girls

Gotta have a goofy pic, and a few more...

A group hug

I guess all that silliness knocked out one of Noah's teeth.

Merry Christmas from Santa and his little elves!

A New Tradition-Elf on the Shelf

We started a new tradition this year.  Monday after Thanksgiving we got a visit from Elf on the Shelf.  He made a surprise Elf breakfast and brought gifts for everyone.   There were special snowman donuts, reindeer donuts, hot cocoa with tiny marhsmallows, the Elf on the Shelf book, a new Llama Llama Christmas book, and goodie bags for all of them.  There was also a note from their Elf explaining all about him and why he came to visit.  (I thought I took a picture of the note, but I can't find it.)  The note told them he'd be visiting every day until Christmas, and that they had to give him a name.  They all chose Buddy because that's the name of the elf in their favorite Christmas movie, Elf.  So Buddy the Elf it was, and he surprised them every morning that week with all the places they'd find him, and the mischief he'd get into.  They couldn't wait to find him every morning when they got up.

Buddy waiting with the breakfast he made and gifts he brought.

Waking up and coming out and finding their surprise.

Their special Elf breakfast.

Checking out the gifts Buddy brought like an Elf hat...

..and Elf candy (m&m's).

Enjoying their Elf breakfast...

...and hot cocoa.

Showing off their Elf hats and Christmas socks.

The next morning they found him sitting at the table in the doll house.

The day after that he was riding the train around our tree.

Then they found him fishing for goldfish in the their bathroom sink.

He sure likes sweets.  He was drinking syrup and eating m&m's for breakfast another morning.

Then he was sitting in their doll high chair another morning.

More sweets.  He got into a bag of chocolate chips.

Gracie found him one morning wearing Woody's hat and guitar and riding their riding horse.
