Basketball Camp

Last week Noah went to Basketball Camp. Thank goodness basketball is an indoor sport. It's been so hot here lately. I don't know how he could stand playing baseball outside the week before. He had a great time playing basketball. He still can't throw the ball high enough most of the time to get it into the hoop, but he enjoys it anyway, and loves to come home and practice with his smaller basketball hoop in the back yard. He's getting good at making baskets in that one. My aunt and uncle were in town that week too, so they got to come out and watch him play for the last day when they let the parents come watch. He was happy to have a bigger audience there to watch him.

Anna's Teeth All Fixed

Last week Anna went back to the dentist and got her two front teeth fixed. She was not very happy with this procedure and put up a big fight. Luckily Daddy was there to hold her down so the dentist could do what she needed to do. She's a fighter just like her brother when it comes to stuff like this, and I'm not very good at being strong and supportive. I just can't stand to see my babies cry like that. It breaks my heart even if it is what's best for them.

Summer Fun

We've been enjoying our summer so far. We went to Magiquest one day. Noah still loves that place. Anna wasn't as thrilled with it, but she's a little young for it. She did like waving her wand at things though and making them light up or open. And in the evenings the kids have been having fun playing on the swingset. Our next door neighbors moved away recently and let us have their wood swingset, something I've always wanted for the kids. I hated our metal one. It got all rusty after one summer. Anna loves being pushed in her swing and never wants to get off, and Noah loves going down the big slide over and over again.

Daddy's Day

We had a nice, quiet Father's Day this year. Arron had an exhausting week at work this week, so he said for Father's Day all he wanted to do was stay home and relax and not do anything, so that's exactly what we did. We didn't even go out to eat this year. Instead he requested KFC for dinner because he's been wanting that for some time now, so we made a quick run out to get a bucket of chicken and enjoyed some KFC and time at home together.

Grace is 3 months old

It's Grace's 3 month birthday today. Wow, it just seems like it's going by so fast this time. We are all really enjoying her. She's giving us such sweet smiles and has started laughing now too. I think she especially likes to laugh at Noah and Anna. The first two pictures below are from a couple days before her 3 month birthday, and the last two were taken on her 3 month birthday. Isn't she a little cutie? I love her feet in the last two pictures.

Baseball Camp

Noah went to baseball camp this week at the local high school. It was his first time going to baseball camp. Last year he went to basketball and soccer camp. He had a great time, and when we went to watch him play on the last day of camp he did really well. He hit the ball every time and made it home each time too. The younger kids played inside in the gym for the parents that day, thank goodness, because it was so hot outside. The bigger kids used the ball field outside.

Anna's 1st Dentist visit

Anna went to her first dentist appointment today. She has two little spots on her top two front teeth, so we wanted to get them checked out. The dentist took some x-rays and looked at her teeth. She was very good for the x-rays, but did not like the dentist poking around in her mouth at all. The dentist said the two strange spots on her teeth are defects in the teeth, and one of them has a cavity in it. She did reassure us though that we were doing a good job taking care of Anna's teeth, and the cavity was not from not doing a good job brushing her teeth. It was because of the defects in her teeth and was unavoidable, and she would eventually get a cavity in the other tooth as well. So we set up an appointment for next week to get both of her teeth fixed.

Camp Edge - Vacation Bible School 2009

While I was in NC with the girls, Noah was home hanging out with Daddy and Steve and went to Vacation Bible School last week. He had a great time and learned a lot. Below are some pictures of him singing all the songs he learned at the end of the week for the parents. I also posted a video of him singing one of the songs. Notice the little girl who suddenly appears next to Noah in the video. Anna just loves being with her big brother.

Bowling and a Trip

We decided to take the kids bowling last weekend. It was Anna's first time, and we weren't sure how she would do with a big, heavy bowling ball, but she did pretty good as long as it was her turn. She wasn't too happy though when it was someone else's turn. She was so funny when she'd go up there to bowl. Daddy would help her, and the first few times she would put the ball down and kick it down the lane. She eventually caught on, and then would come running back jumping up and down saying, "I did it, I did it!" It was so cute.

The next day we went to the mall to walk around a little while. Noah went on the bungee trampoline and loved it. He's been wanting to try that for a while now. We thought he might end up being scared once they hooked him up to it, but he really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun. He didn't want to get off when his time was up. After that both Anna and Noah rode around on these little animals together. Noah seemed to think it was like bumper cars though because he kept trying to run into the other kid that was riding one.

While we were at the mall we got a call from our friends, Steve and Julie, who live in NC. They were down for the weekend to go to a graduation and wanted to meet up with us before they went home. They met us at the mall, and we got to meet their new baby Krystina, born in December, and they got to meet Grace. We shopped around the mall for a little while with them, and then we all went back to our house and had dinner. We came up with the idea that Steve would stay down here with Arron and Noah for a few days, and me, Anna, and Grace would go up to NC with Julie. I don't know about the guys, but despite having 4 little girls aged 2 months to 2 years with us, Julie and I had a great time. It wasn't easy going out and doing things with that many little ones, but we managed. We thought the guys would enjoy hanging out together and having some peace and quiet for a few days, but they both said it was too quiet, and they missed their girls. On Thursday evening we all met half way so that Steve could go back to his house, and I could go back to mine. We stopped and ate at Cracker Barrell together before we said goodbye.

They had a good time playing together while we were there.

A Visit to the Zoo and School's Out

Last weekend we decided to brave the heat and go visit the zoo. At least most of the zoo is pretty well shaded, so it wasn't too bad. Anna and Noah had a great time feeding all the animals. Noah was scared to put his hand anywhere near the fence of any of the animals to feed them though so most of his food ended up on the ground on the wrong side of the fence, but Anna loved feeding the animals and wasn't afraid to feed any of them. Although that wasn't always a good thing since some animals might bite the hand that feeds them, but she did fine and actually walked around the entire zoo without being carried. We went there early so we walked around one side of the zoo, and then stopped to eat lunch at the picnic tables before visiting the rest of the zoo. Before we left we stopped to get the kids an ice cream sandwich to cool off on the way out.

I love this picture, it's so funny.

This goat ended up with a pine cone stuck on it's head after another goat who originally had the pine cone stuck on his head rammed his head into this one. It was so funny to watch them with that pine cone on their heads. He eventually got it off though.

Grace was at the zoo too, but she was asleep in the Snugli on my chest, so I took her picture when we got home.

Yesterday was Noah's last day of 1st grade. He is now a second grader. I can't believe it. He's getting older so fast. On the last day of school they had a pizza and ice cream party, and we all went by the school to join him at the party.
