On My Own

This week Arron went back to work after taking 3 weeks off to stay home and help me with the baby while I was recovering from my c-section. It was nice having him home with us, and it was really nice that Noah had off for spring break during the last week of Arron's time off, so we were all together that week. We shopped for some summer clothes, visited the Easter Bunny, picked out a new refrigerator, and Arron tiled our bathroom floor too. The time went by fast and now I'm on my own during the day just trying to figure out how to get everything done while taking care of a newborn and a two year old, and then helping Noah with his homework when he gets home. It's definitely not easy. Hopefully, I'll find time eventually to clean the house. At least I am managing to get the laundry done and feed and bathe everyone.

The Playroom

I almost forgot to post some pictures of the completed new playroom. It's all finished, and the kids absolutely love it. They play out there pretty much all day. It was definitely a great idea to turn our back porch into this playroom. We needed the extra space and now our living room isn't cluttered up with toys all over too. We are all enjoying it.

And this has nothing to do with the playroom, but I also wanted to mention that we finally got Anna a new big girl car seat. She loves it. As soon as I got it out of the box she climbed right in it. She couldn't wait to try it out.

More Home Improvements

Last week we got all our new flooring installed. New tile put down in the kitchen and the entryway to cover up the ugly old vinyl flooring we had there, and new carpet in the living room, hallway, and the new playroom. We love all of it. It's like having a new house, and we are enjoying our house again. The new carpet is so nice and thick, it makes me want to get down on the floor and lay on it, and it makes the old carpet look like we were walking on cardboard all this time because it was so thin. Here are the before and after pictures below....

Home improvements and another update on the new room

Thanks to our friends Julie and Steve we got alot done on our house recently. They came down for the weekend and helped us pick out colors and then helped us paint the living room, kitchen and the new room. Julie also helped me pick out some other things for the house like lamps and some wall hangings. She also hung some wall border in our kitchen too. Then last weekend our friends Mike and Dolly came over and Mike helped Arron paint our bedroom too. Everything looks so good. I love the new colors on the walls. It's much better than that boring antique white they painted the house when they built it. All that's left now is the carpet. We'll be getting new carpet in the living room and carpet for the new room.

Update on the new room

Just thought I'd post some new pics of the work that's been done on the new room.

Our new door. No more sliding glass door. I hated that thing, but I love our new french doors especially since the blinds are built into the door. The door knob on it is just temporary until we pick one out.

The new room

The latest thing happening at our house is we are turning our back porch into another room. In the almost 8 years we've lived here we've hardly ever used it, so since we could use the extra space in our house we decided to put it to good use by making it a playroom for the kids. I can't wait until it's finished. Below are some before pictures and some pictures of the work that's been done so far.
