Goodbye Dian

I have gotten behind on my blogging lately and will try to catch up on it this week hopefully. Christmas was a busy time and add to it that Noah was recovering from major surgery, and I just had less and less time to blog. Then just after Christmas Arron's mother passed away. We had to wait for Noah's check up appointment for his leg and make sure the doctor thought it was alright for him to travel, and then pack everyone up quickly and head to Virginia. We broke the trip up a little so Noah did not have to sit in the car for such long periods of time. We stayed at our friends house in NC, spent the night, then headed the rest of the way to Arron's cousin's house in VA, which is where we stayed for the week, so we could go to the funeral for his mom, Dian. She had diabetes and had been on dialysis for awhile, then received a kidney transplant about five years ago. She had not been doing well for at least the last year and just before Christmas she spent a couple weeks in the hospital and was very sick. They told her her kidneys were failing again. They wanted to put her back on dialysis again, but she had been sick for awhile and was weak and tired, and she just wanted to go home and rest. They didn't give her very long after that, and she went even faster than we expected. We had hoped to get up there and see her before she passed away, but did not get up there in time, since we had to get Noah to his appointment for his leg. We even moved up his appointment as early as we could get it, but maybe it was better to not have to see her like that. We can remember her how she was before when she was doing better. It was not a very good ending to the year though, but at least she made it through Christmas. We did have a nice visit with Arron's family while we were up there and got to ring in the new year with them. Noah enjoyed spending time with his cousin Emma too, and she took good care of him while he was there. Just wish that Dian had been there to enjoy the time with us and with her grandkids. She is up there in heaven taking care of little Westin now and giving him lots of hugs from his mommy.

Here are a few pictures of Arron's mom. They are from a couple of years ago. I have so many pictures on my computer it is hard to sort through all of them to find a specific one, and these were the best ones of her when she was still feeling pretty good after the kidney transplant.
